The International Observatory on Social Cohesion and Inclusion (OCIS) is born with the intention to provide useful tools of knowledge to study the origin, development and consolidation of social cohesion in contemporary social and political communities.

OCIS wants to become a reference point for the national and international debate on the issue of social cohesion, through the production and the spread of scientific articles and informative reports, to be considered as a set of bonds characterized by a high degree of trust among the people of a given community. Assuming that social cohesion is also the product of public policies which are inclusive and aimed at promoting the common good, the Observatory wants to be a laboratory of ideas and proposals for strengthening social cohesion in Italy as well as abroad.

The Observatory, besides writing a column in the Altreconomia magazine, avails itself of the collaboration of experts from various disciplines to carry out scientific and educational initiatives aimed at spreading the awareness that social cohesion is an essential element for the dissemination of ‘social well-being’.
 
These are the OCIS products:

- Social Cohesion Papers, papers and brief analysis by the Observatory on relevant topics to the construction and strengthening of policies for social cohesion and inclusion in Italy and Europe.

- Fact Sheets and Policy Memos, a collection of data and considerations on the main current affairs and debates, which constitute social cohesion, as well as recommendations and guidelines for policy makers and stakeholders.

- Social Cohesion Notes, contributions of experts from various disciplines aimed at providing brief analyses and ideas on current issues and topics.

- OCIS column for Altreconomia magazine, monthly articles about social cohesion in the World edited by the members of the Observatory.

Easy Care Foundation and the social cooperative Coopselios are arranging a meeting on integrated local welfare and home care services innovation. The event will take place at the international center Loris Malaguzzi on the 2nd of December at 2 p.m.

A research promoted by Easy Care Foundation under the scientific supervision of CERGAS Bocconi University, which aims to develop an innovative model for the personalized care and assistance to frail and elderly people, in accordance with the principles of subsidiarity, freedom of choice, quality, effectiveness and legality.
The research started an experimental phase which since 2009, launched Prontoserenità® model with a specific know-how and trademark, as an innovative personalized care and response system to the assistance and care needs of families.

Social Cohesion Days Festival is back to Reggio Emilia with the second edition, which will be held from the 26th  to 28th of May 2016, in order to share thoughts on welfare policies and good practices, raising awareness on the importance of social cohesion.

The Festival is a unique opportunity to listen to researchers and policy makers, international personalities and civil society organizations all debating and dialoguing on major topics of social relevance.
